Founder and Principal
I started Revital Design because I wanted to make a difference. After studying at Harvard and Rice University, I worked in world-class firms on high-profile projects around the globe. I designed the campus for the FDA, the headquarters for American Greetings, and even a net-zero city in Saudi Arabia. But after being exposed to the challenges in American cities (through a program called Leadership Baltimore), I found that all my achievements were not enough.
That’s when I decided to leave it all behind and apply everything that I have learned to revitalize the world around me – to make it the place we all know it should be. Great design, for me, is for the restoration of humanity. I endeavor to make every project a contribution to the lives of people and the health of the environment.
To do so, I like to get involved. I get involved in issues related to community building, placemaking, and revitalization. I advocate for communities and good design, seeking to influence plans and policies wherever I can. I am an urbanist, planner and architect and I am decidedly a generalist who seeks to apply a rigorous design methodology to any important project.
I see every project is a big investment with huge implications. Because of this, I work closely with clients, communities and stakeholders to make the most out of every opportunity. I take time to listen and learn, to understand what they see and hope for. My goal is to apply the decades of experience I have gleaned to help the people I encounter succeed in the good work they are already doing.
